  26.  Prices have changed since the previous release, first because now
  27.  the NON-commercial users also must pay for a license, second because
  28.  the US dollar has a very low transfer rate.

  31.  Copyrights and Licence Agreement

  34.  - Users of the MTC-package must accept this disclaimer of warranty:

  36.  - The MTC-package is supplied as is.  The author disclaims all
  37.    warranties, expressed or implied, including, without limitation,
  38.    the warranties of merchantability and of fitness for any purpose.
  39.    The author assumes no liability for damages, direct or consequential,
  40.    which may result from the use of the MTC-package;
  41.  
  42.  - The MTC-package is a "shareware program" and is provided at no charge
  43.    to the user for evaluation.  Feel free to share it with your friends,
  44.    but please do not give it away altered or as part of another system.
  45.    The essence of "user-supported" software is to provide personal
  46.    computer users with quality software without high prices, and yet to
  47.    provide incentive for programmers to continue to develop new products.

  49.  - If you find this program useful and find that you are using and
  50.    continue the use of the MTC-package after a 30 days trial period,
  51.    you must register the MTC-package as described below;
  52.  
  53.  - Non-commercial can get a licence for the usage up to this release
  54.    of the MTC-package for a small amount of money. Look into the
  55.    details in REGISTER.MTC.
  56.    For Non-commercial users there is a POSSIBILITY to submit to one
  57.    of the special contracts as explained in the file REGISTER.MTC.

  59.  - Commercial usage of MTC will cost somewhat more. Also, a so called
  60.    'closed' Bulletin Board System (a system where the user must pay
  61.    direct to the SysOp to get full access) is has to pay more than
  62.    a Non-commercial user. Both types of users should look into the
  63.    details in REGISTER.MTC;
  64.  
  65.  - The registration of the MTC-package will licence ONE copy for use on
  66.    any computer at any one time, as long as the usage confirms to the
  67.    type of registration you have done (so NON-commercial usage when you
  68.    have a non-commercial licence);
  69.  
  70.  - Anyone distributing the MTC-package for any kind of remuneration must
  71.    first contact the Author at the address above for authorization.
  72.  
  73.  - You are encouraged to pass a copy of the MTC-package along to your
  74.    friends for evaluation.  Please encourage them to register their
  75.    copy if they find that they can use it;
  76.  
  77.  - Support on MTC, when used in a non-commercial environment, is
  78.    available by means of written letters or by entering the inter-
  79.    national echomaol area DISP;
  80.  
  81.  - Problems and suggestions can be entered in the FidoNet <tm> Echomail
  82.    conference <tm> called DISP (international). Entering this echo does
  83.    not exclude you of the duty to register the MTC-package, though users
  84.    who evaluate the product can enter the echo for questions;

  86.  - The MTC-package, all programs, the documentation and support-files is
  87.    copyrighted 1990 by Robert W. van Hoeven, PO. Box 131, Badhoevedorp
  88.    1170AC, Holland. All rights are reserved. You may copy this package
  89.    for backup purposes. Also you may copy and share unmodified copies of
  90.    the whole package, providing that the copyright notice is reproduced
  91.    and included on all copies.
  92.    Excluded from this statement are the support-files written by other
  93.    authors. Please refer to the documentation of these programs for
  94.    copyrights and licence agreements;

  96.  - It is forbidden to modify, adapt, translate, reverse engineer, de-
  97.    compile and/or disassemble the software in the MTC-package. Patching
  98.    the medium at places that carry the software is seen as a program
  99.    change and is also forbidden. It is forbidden to create a so called
  100.    'bypass' to skip the original introduction screens and delay. Also
  101.    it is forbidden to use such a 'bypass' unless supplied by the author
  102.    (Robert W. van Hoeven) himself;

  104.  - Performing any of the illegal actions as stated in the previous
  105.    lines, is a theft and no fair play to the author and, more important,
  106.    to the registered users;
  107.  
  108.  - Bulletin Board Systems that distribute the MTC package can convert
  109.    the WHOLE package to any archive-system they like but all original
  110.    files must be included in the new archive. The MTC-package on the
  111.    Bulletin Board can contain at the most 2 extra files. These files
  112.    can only be a commercial for that Bulletin Board and/or validation
  113.    data that is presented as a service to all users and shall have no
  114.    other functions;

  116.  - After the normal trial period of 30 days, you must register the soft-
  117.    ware (see REGISTER.MTC) or you must remove it from your PC;
  118.  
  119.  - Comments, suggestions and bug reports are welcome and will be answered
  120.    as soon I have the time to do so. You can send me a letter of leave a
  121.    NetMail <tm> message named to Rob Van.hoeven (mind the point) on node

  133.  There are several ways to register the usage of the MTC-package. All
  134.  is depending on the environment where MTC will be running.
  135.

  137.  NON-Commercial registration
  138.  ────────────────────────────────────

  140.  When you use MTC in a non-commercial environment, the registration is
  141.  simple and rather cheap if you consider all the time I have put into
  142.  this product. As NON-commercial user, you must pay for a Non-commercial
  143.  license.
  144.  Payment of the registration fee, entitles you to:
  145.  
  146.  - The license for running ONE copy of the MTC-package in a
  147.    NON-commercial environment on any computer at any one time;
  148.  
  149.  - A diskette with the latest copy of the MTC-package on 5 1/4 or
  150.    3 1/2 inch diskette (360/720 Kb);
  151.  
  152.  - The correct support-files to make MTC registered;
  153.  
  154.  - The license for NON-commercial usage can not be used in any other
  155.    environment than the NON-commercial environment itself. Upgrading
  156.    to a commercial license or to a license for a closed BBS can be
  157.    done by paying the difference in price between the current license
  158.    and the new license;
  159.  
  160.  The license does NOT include any update service as described later
  161.  nor does it include the 90 days support service.

  163.  The price for a NON-commercial license is US $ 10,--.

  169.  When you use MTC in a commercial environment or when you use MTC on
  170.  a so called 'closed' BBS (this is a BBS where the users must pay to
  171.  the Sysop to get full access), you must pay for a license to use MTC.

  190.  commercial user or US $ 20,-- for a 'closed' BBS.

  196.  Both commercial AND non-commercial users can enter the update ser-
  197.  vice. International users who use MTC commercial or non-commercial
  198.  will benefit most of this feature. Paying the fee for update service,
  199.  entitles you to:

  201.  - Receiving every new release (minor AND major) for the period of
  202.    one year or 10 releases (which ever comes first) on diskette
  203.    media by first-class Airmail;
  204.  
  205.  - The updates will be send the same day the new release is submitted
  206.    to the support BBS (2:512/100 in Holland);
  207.  
  208.  - The diskettes are first-class (no no-name or white diskettes) and
  209.    will contain a special diskette label;
  210.  
  211.  The price for update service is US $ 20,-- for 5 1/2 inch (360Kb) dis-
  212.  kettes and US $ 30,-- for 3 1/2 inch (720Kb) diskettes.

  215.  Paying

  218.  - By postal money order or international money order. Normal cheques
  219.    (if they are not EuroCheques) will cost me extra money to transfer,
  220.    so add US $ 10,-- for transfer if you use such a cheque. Cheques
  221.    that can not be collected within a reasonable time, are returned to
  222.    the sender;

  230.   - Sending money directly, but please make sure you send it with
  231.     some kind of safety, so you can make sure yourself that I received
  232.     the money. When you send money, you can also send money in your
  233.     own currency, but make sure to use a valid exchange rate. This is
  234.     the exchange rate on the day you send the money to me;

  239.  Dutch users can also pay in dutch money. Transfer the amount of dutch
